- Specialists on hand to demo wide format inkjet print and cut devices
- On-demand packaging proofs, prototypes and labels to be shown
Roland DG will demonstrate its VersaCAMM VS-420 and VersaUV LEC-330 wide format inkjet print and cut devices for producing packaging proofs and prototypes at next week’s annual Esko UK Software Seminar.
Taking place on September 6 at Loughborough University, the seminar day is designed to help companies in the sign and display sectors to maximize the business creation possibilities offered by Esko's product portfolio.
The program for the day includes reviews of all the enhancements addressing sign and display artwork, management, design and pre-press, color management, workflow automation, project management and process integration.
Roland will participate in the day with specialists on hand to demonstrate the VersaCAMM VS-420 and VersaUV LEC-330 (pictured, top) wide format inkjet print and cut devices.
The printer/cutters will be shown producing on-demand and cost-effective packaging proofs, prototypes and labels.
Roland’s VersaUV LEC series uses UV curable inks for cost effective on-demand production of packaging prototypes, even on the same stock as the final output.
The print and cut machine has a maximum width of 54in and, with white and clear inks, can print onto plastics, vinyls, metals, foils, films and even leather – as well as layering clear gloss to produce textured effects, and gloss or matte finishes.
The 42in-wide VersaCAMM VS-420 is one in a series of four models in the VS range.
Its use of metallic inks make for simulating foiling effects and white ink capability means vibrant colors can be produced on clear substrates..
Esko solutions on the day will include Suite 12, a major update release for the packaging, label, sign and display industries, which focuses on adding value for the user by introducing new productivity and efficiency, as well as facilitating mobile collaboration and web-based management workflows.
It features WebCenter 12, Automation Engine 12, Color Engine 12, Studio 12 and the flagship editors, ArtiosCAD, PackEdge, ArtPro and DeskPack.
Also partnering Esko at the event will be: X-Rite, who will be showcasing its PantoneLIVE, which was launched in March; and Esko's wide-format distributor Digital Print Innovations and The Quick Brown Fox, who will be demonstrating how to integrate its Aramis MIS system into an automated workflow in order to generate extra power.
